Measuring the carbon economy.

A structured view of energy, industry, and the environment — organized so they can be explored and compared together, with every figure traceable to its source.

CarbonWorks is building a unified index of carbon-related activity across energy, industry, and the environment.

Instead of treating power generation, manufacturing, emissions, and atmospheric measurement as separate subjects, CarbonWorks organizes them into a single structured view so they can be explored, compared, and understood together.

Every published dataset is linked to its original source and accompanied by information describing when it was collected, how it was processed, and the confidence of the resulting measurements.

Energy. Production, generation, fuel consumption, and related indicators drawn from public energy datasets.

Industry. Industrial activity, infrastructure, manufacturing, and operational indicators that influence the movement of carbon through the economy.

Environment. Atmospheric and environmental observations that provide long-term context for changes across the broader carbon system.

Every measurement published by CarbonWorks is intended to be traceable to its original source, accompanied by provenance information, consistent across data providers, and presented with transparent confidence reporting.

The goal is not to provide opinions or forecasts, but to provide a reliable foundation for analysis.

The measurement approach — observation windows, confidence, provenance, and how sources are qualified — is described on the Method page.

Coverage expands continuously as new carbon-related datasets are qualified. What the index holds today is listed on The Index.
